                      The Modern Environment

In the modern world, we spend about 80% of our time indoors, breathing conditioned air that is isolated from neg-ion rich environments. By shutting out fresh air, the air inside becomes a stale, polluted mix of bacteria, viruses, dust mites, mold, cooking grease, paint fumes, textile fibers, asbestos and many other pollutant. Toxic chemical agents have found their way into our drinking water, and in our very food there are uncertified artificial food pigment, gluside, and preservatives. All of these factors either directly or indirectly are damaging cells in the human body, thus producing more pos-ions than neg-ions in the cells. When this effect occurs the cells will age and become diseased, thus incurring chronic diseases or even cancers.

It is estimated that 90% of illnesses are caught indoors, and why modern civilization is plagued with insomnia, headaches, fatigue, sinus problems and the like. Asthma, allergies and chronic breathing problems have increased 60% since 1989. Lung disease is now the 4th leading cause of death in the world and rising. Reasearches reveal that the pollution inside the building is four or five times than that outside. We spend 70-80% of our lives inside our houses so it's urgent for us to know how to keep our living environment clean and healthy.

Negative ions are nature's air cleaners. Pollution-bearing irritants are positively charged, and are attracted to negative ions like a magnet. Any space with more neg-ions than pos-ions smells, feels and is fresher and cleaner than an area in which pos-ions are plentiful. The composition of negative ions and bacteria will result in the deformation of bacteria and will also cause particles floating in the room to-clump together and fall to the ground to minimize pollution.

Almost all households have electric appliances such as stoves, toasters, air conditioners, heating systems, microwave ovens, sound systems, cellular phones, television sets and computers. All of these contribute to our modern comfort, but also create magnetic fields and produce positive ions. A television or computer screen produces one million positive ions  a minute. Because the concentration is strongest near the source of transmission, computers, which are always at arms' length, pose greater risks than television, which we watch from a distance.

The many electronic air cleaners on the market today use ionization techniques, but are less than effective. They will trap pollutants in the air that passes through them, but that is usually only a tiny portion of the air in your home. Furthermore, up to 85% of negative ions are absorbed through the skin, only 15% are absorbed through our lungs.

To combat the harmful effects of pollution, stale air and our city lifestyle, we need to surround ourselves with neg-ions and absorb them in an effective, efficient manner. When people wear clothing with a "Neg-Ion Shield", thus limiting any problems that may arise from the pos-ions in the air.

This is how negative ion garments from HiTek Ionic Wear can help.

Now, negative ions may not be unusual, but negative ion clothing is. All of our products carry powerful negative ions, which when emitted from the clothes or in rubbing against the skin, will be absorbed by the cells in the skin, enhance the immune system and increase blood circulation.

The chart below describes the typical amount of neg-ions present in different environments.
